Nell'angolo della stanza due servant-girls stanno forse cercando un indumento - la loro presenza nell'immagine è una scusa per l'artista per creare un senso di familiarità per mezzo di quella che sembra essere una scena quotidiana . I loro gesti vibrano abbastanza nella luce che filtra dalla finestra , generare a near-musical effetto in background , e valorizzando il vitale scintillio interiore di Venus' corpo nudo . Il cane , le rose trattenute da venere , e la pianta di mirto sul davanzale della finestra sono tutti simboli della costanza dell'amore .
